Burn Ban Indicators
It is illegal to burn anything out doors when we are under a burn ban. The State Forestry Department monitors things like current weather trends and amount of rain fall, they use this information to determine whether or not it is safe to start a fire outdoors. We will keep this information available to you for your safety and for the safety of your neighbors. Below are the indicators that may appear on our home page.
Burn Ban Effective
This symbol means that all outdoor burning is ban.
Under these conditions it is illegal to burn anything outdoors. If caught burning outdoors, while under a burn ban, your fire will be extinguished and your actions may result in a fine.
Use Caution!
This symbol means that the burn ban has been lifted. We use this symbol to indicate that the current weather conditions in Calera, OK may not be completely safe to start a fire outdoors. It is legal to burn outdoors but please be sure to exercise extreme caution when starting a fire under these conditions.
Burn Ban Lifted
This symbol means that the burn ban has been lifted. It is legal to burn outdoors. As always, be careful and take precautions to ensure both your safety and the safety of those around you when managing a fire.
Oklahoma Burn Ban Information
The State of Oklahoma has two methods for issuing burn bans. The Governor can issue a state wide burn ban, or the county commissioners can issue a burn ban as needed. Below are some links to more information about Oklahoma Burn Bans:
